Village school in Okhle

The village of Okhle is located about six trekking hours east of Gorkha. About 100 families live there. Okhle has a small school called Janapriya primary school Ratmata, with about 74 children in three classes. Due to financial problems of the Nepali government, the school can only afford  to pay for two teachers. Both teachers do their best to teach the children in Nepali. We supplied this school with a third teacher and changed the language into English. In order to pay the teacher‘s salary we sponsor it with school memberships.

  1. We employed a teacher (Ms Sudha Amgain) at 16th October 2008. She teaches one of the three classes from Sundays to Fridays from 08:00 a.m. until 16:00 p.m.

  2. In accordance with the head of the school we changed the language into English on 16th October 2008 and bought new books and educational equipment for the whole school.

  3. We support all pupils with a new school uniform.

  4. We built an additional new school building.
