School membership for Nepal

Om-Mane school

The charity "Wir helfen Nepal e. V." built a school in Gerkhutar, Nepal. The Om-Mane-Schule is a very good and professional school. This school still has capacity for more children.

The name of the other school in Okhle is „Janapriya Primary School  Ratmata“.

There are a lot of poor families which don‘t have enough money to send their children to school. They need money to pay for the school fee, school uniforms, books, food and more.

You will find more information about both schools under the links above the headline -> Village school Okhle and Village school G

erkhutar.

The reason why;

One of the big problems in Nepal is high unemployment.  A person who can read and write is able to find a better job. Due to cultural and traditional background, men are the ones who have to earn enough money to pay for food, clothes, etc. for the whole family.

The best solution to fight against hunger, war and poverty is to help with education.

Okhle school

The price for a school membership for each child is 17,-- Euro per month.

Selection of school children

Each selected child for a school membership is a member of a lower cast. (The cast system was cancelled in the sixties but in the countryside, it is still in the minds of the people).

Most of the parents are uneducated because they didn‘t have the chance to go to school. Most of them haven‘t got their own land. They are working for little money or exchange food with other families.

The parents know that all children have to go to school, but they need their children on the fields to survive.

It is  important to understand that with a school membership we prevent children from working. Nepal faces big problems with children working.

Up to the age of 4 the children are able to go to the nursery class. When the children have finished 10th class, they are able to work as a teacher in Nepal and are able to earn their own money.
